Write a letter to the Editor of a newspaper, protesting against the practice of begging in trains.

Answer»

ANSWER:

C K Jaiswal

417, Kabir Colony, Jamshedpur (Bihar)

Date …………….

The Editor

The Hindustan Times

New Delhi

Sir,

Sub Nuisance of beggars.

I shall be thankful if you publish this letter in the columns of your esteemed newspaper. I would like to draw the attention of local authorities towards the increasing nuisance of beggars in our city.

Nowadays, the number of beggars has abruptly increased. Everywhere in the city-markets, parks outside a restaurant or even in streets you will find such obstinate beggars. The pity is that most of that are physically fit but begging is their profession. Some of them might be involved in other offences also. Some of the beggars suffer from highly infectious diseases such as LEPROSY, TB etc. it is NECESSARY that that such cases be taken care of and be treated in GENERAL Hospital, and other able-bodied beggars be taken to task. Either they should do the given jobs or they must be punished by the Government, and they should not be allowed to make begging their profession.

I am sure, the authorities will positively take care of this increasing nuisance of beggars, at the earliest.

Yours truly

Paragraph writing on visit to village

Answer»

Answer:

Free sample essay on A Visit to a Village. When someone from a city visits a village, he finds everything different. In fact, some of the differences appear surprising. During the summer vacation, I visited my native village Besra in Orissa.

My father was born and brought up here. When at the age of 19 he joined the army, he left his home. SINCE then he only occasionally visited the village. This time we had GONE there after five long years. But surprisingly, very little has changed in my village during those five years.

My village is backward. Despite great progress in other parts of the country, the pace of development is very slow in my village. My village is connected to the main road by non- METALLIC road. When I entered the village, I was welcomed by lush green fields. There were hills and hillocks scattered all around the village. The farmers were sowing the seeds in their fields. Their wives and children were also helping them. At a little distance there was a big field. A flock of children were grazing their cattle there. A stream was flowing nearby. The grazing cattle were drinking water in the stream. The greenery that I saw in the village is rare in a city. The life is laid back and calm. There is no hassle and moving there. Moving ahead, suddenly some stinking smell struck my nose. I covered my nose with my handkerchief. The smell was coming out of a big drain which was flowing nearby. The muddy passage was littered by the cow dungs.

Why was Jerome angry with Tittiums?

Answer»

Answer:

Jerome was born in Caldmore, Walsall, England. He was the fourth child of MARGUERITE Jones and Jerome Clapp (who later renamed himself Jerome Clapp Jerome),[1] an ironmonger and lay preacher who dabbled in architecture. He had two sisters, Paulina and Blandina, and one brother, Milton, who died at an early age. Jerome was registered as Jerome Clapp Jerome,[2] like his father's amended name, and the Klapka appears to be a later variation (after the exiled Hungarian general György Klapka). The family fell into poverty owing to bad investments in the local mining industry, and debt COLLECTORS visited often, an EXPERIENCE that Jerome described vividly in his autobiography My Life and Times (1926).[3]

The young Jerome attended St Marylebone GRAMMAR School. He wished to go into politics or be a man of letters, but the death of his father when Jerome was 13 and of his mother when he was 15 forced him to quit his studies and find work to support himself. He was employed at the London and North Western Railway, initially collecting coal that fell along the railway, and he remained there for four years.
