There are 3 main difference between OLTP and OLAP system and base of difference is given below
(1)Indexes:-OLTP system has limited number of indexes and on another hand OLAP system have many indexes for PERFORMANCE optimization.
(2)Joins:-When we say about OLTP systen there are large number of joins and data is also NORMALIZED and on another hand OLAP system have very less number and joins and it is de-normalized.
(3)Aggregation:-When we say about OLTP system data is not aggregated while in OLAP database more aggregation are used.
