What is reflex arc?? |
|
Answer» Thank you manoj Singh? The pathway through which nerve impluse pass during of reflex action is caleed reflex arc. Reflex action in an involuntary action by the body to external stimuli, in which we cannot control ourselves. Reflex actions often bypass the brain altogether to occur very quickly. There are a number of different reflex pathways in the body. A classic example of a reflex pathway can be observed by touching a hot object. Whenever our hand touches a hot object, it triggers a reflex. Signals from the stimulus are transmitted to the spinal cord along the reflex pathway and the spinal cord activates motor neurons, causing the hand to pull away from the hot object. |

Information about brain |
|
Answer» The brain center part of the body. There three main types.1.fore brain 2.mid brain 3.hind brain Human brain is a highly complex organ; which is mainly composed of the nervous tissue. The tissues are highly folded to accommodate a larger surface area in less space. The brain is covered by a three layered system of membranes; called meninges. Cerebrospinal fluid is filled between the meninges. The CSF provides cushion to the brain against mechanical shocks. Furthermore, the brain is housed inside the skull for optimum protection. The human brain can be divided into three regions, viz. forebrain, midbrain and hindbrain.\tForebrain: It is composed of the cerebrum.\tMidbrain: It is composed of the hypothalamus.\tHindbrain: It is composed of the cerebellum, pons and medulla oblongata. |

Describe the different methods of asexual reproduction. Give example. |
|
Answer» Asexual Reproduction: When a single parent is involved and no gamete formation takes place; the method is called asexual reproduction. No meiosis happens during asexual reproduction.Different methods of asexual reproduction are:(a) Binary Fission: This process takes place in unicellular organisms. Parent cell elongates and gets divided into two identical daughter cells. Each daughter cell grows into an independent adult.(b) Endospore Formation: In this method the spore wall is formed around a bacterial cell to form an endospore. This endospore germinates to form an active bacterium under favourable conditions.(c) Fragmentation: In this process, body of the organism breaks up into two parts. Then each part grows into a new filament thus forming two organisms from a single one.(d) Spore Formation: The spores are tiny spherical unicellular structures protected by thick wall. The spores are stored in a hard outer covering and this is called sporangium. Under favourable conditions the hard cover breaks and spores spread for germination.(e) Budding: In yeast, new organisms are produced by the bud formation from the parent organism After growing to full size, the bud gets detached and forms a new independent individual.(f) Vegetative propagation: When vegetative parts of a plant like stems, leaves and root etc., give rise to new ones, it is called vegetative propagation. By budding , spore formation, vegetative propagation , regeneration and fragmentation are some methods of asexual reproduction |

What is phenotypeWhat is genotype |
| Answer» The genetic makeup of an organism is designated by the term genotype, while the appearance of the organism is designated by the term phenotype.Genotype is the set of genes that carries specific information for a particular trait like character. For example though genes carry the information for height, the actual information of height if the person is tall or short, is due to alleles.Phenotype on the contrary is responsible for the outward, physical appearance of the organism. The phenotype includes physical characteristics, behaviours corresponding to such species, structures, organs, reflexes, etc. | |
