If you observe the stem of acquatic plants it will be hollow ,what type of parenchyma tissue is present in that hollow stem

Answer»

Parenchyma, often the most common ground tissue, takes its name from the Greek para, meaning beside, and egchnma, meaning the contents of a pitcher (literally, something POURED beside), indicating its ubiquitous nature throughout the plant body. It forms, for example, the cortex and pith of stems, the photosynthetic tissue layer WITHIN the epidermis of the leaves (mesophyll), the cortex of roots, the PULP of fruits, and the endosperm of seeds. Parenchyma is composed of relatively simple, undifferentiated parenchyma cells. In most plants, metabolic activity (such as respiration, digestion, and photosynthesis) occurs in these cells because they, unlike many of the other types of cells in the plant body, retain their protoplasts (the cytoplasm, nucleus, and cell organelles) that carry out these functions.Parenchyma cells are capable of cell division, even after they have differentiated into the mature form. They can therefore give rise to adventitious buds and roots at some distance from the apical meristem at the tips of shoots and roots. Parenchyma cells are also capable of further differentiation into new cell types under appropriate conditions, such as after trauma. (For information concerning the development of bark during the secondary growth of tissues, see below Vascular tissue.) Parenchyma cells are active in secretion, photosynthesis, and water and food STORAGE (especially in fleshy fruits). They have large fluid-filled vacuoles that maintain cell turgidity; when a plant wilts, for example, it is because the vacuoles in the parenchyma cells have lost water and have become flaccid. Thus, parenchyma also functions in plant support. However, parenchyma cells do not have a secondary cell wall at maturity and thus remain flexible and capable of elongation.Explanation:hope it helps you friend

Difference between conjunctive tissue and medullary rays

Answer»

tion:Vascular cambium give rise to medullary rays. Vascular cambium plays an IMPORTANT ROLE in secondary growth (i.e formation of secondary xylem and secondary PHLOEM) while medullary rays helps in radial conduction of water, minerals and SAP .Here is the complete process of formation of medullary rays-(i.) Secondary medullary rays are formed from the cambium ring. They are formed by the activity of fascicular cambium.(ii) During the process of the division of cambium, the cambium cuts out cells on both the outer and inner SIDE.(iii) The cells of some particular places of a cambium ring produce parenchyma tissue instead of xylem or phloem.(iv) The narrow bands of run rapidly through secondary xylem and secondary phloem tissues.(v) These narrow bands of parenchyma tissues are known as secondary medullary rays

How will you stop taboos on periods in the society?

Answer»

tion:A few years ago, our theatre troupe, Aatish, had gone to the Central Himalayan region of Uttarakhand, in the Almora region, with our plays on resisting menstrual taboos and pre- and post-natal care for women. Before we booked our tickets, there was a big debate in our team on whether the men in our troupe should go along with us. Would it make it awkward for the women in the audience to interact with us if there were men on the stage too? Would they even come to WATCH?We finally decided that patriarchal rules were set up by men and at times implemented by women. So both men and women needed to be part of the discussion. If a man wondered about why his menstruating daughter is not sleeping in a hut outside, he needed to know that it was her right to be as safe and comfortable as the rest of her family. If medicines or nutritious food had to be bought for pregnant or lactating mothers, men needed to know why it was crucial to budget for it.When we went up on stage on performance day, some of our apprehensions and nervousness still remained. With our usual enthusiasm, glitches and improvisation, we concluded our plays and waited with bated breath for the audience’s response. The turnout had been PROMISING. But we still bit our nails FRETTING: would the audience find it worthwhile to come for our upcoming performances in the AREA or would they reject our choice of subject and actors for discussing what many consider “women’s issues”, or, “ladies problems”?After a kind applause, an old woman got up to say, “All right, we need to maintain hygiene during menstruation. But living here in the mountains, we face water scarcity. Can something be done about that?” Another man her age shared how his pregnant daughter-in-law was forced to carry water as her spouse WORKED in the city and the father-in-law was too old to do it himself. We encountered more openness in talking about women’s health here than we sometimes find in urban settings.
