Read the passage given below and answer the questions that follow. I did that thing recently where you have to sign a big card- which is a horror unto itself, especially as the keeper of the big card was leaning over me at the time. Suddenly I was on the spot, a rabbit in the headlights, torn between doing a fun message, some sort of in-joke or a drawing. Instead overwhelmed by the myriad options available to me, I decided to just write 'Good luck, best, Joel'. It was then that I realized, to my horror, that I had forgotten how to write. My entire existence is 'tap letters into computers'. My shopping lists are hidden in the notes function of my phone. If I need to remember something I send an e-mail to myself. A pen is something I chew when I am struggling to think. Paper is something I pile beneath my laptop to make it a more comfortable height for me to type on. A poll of 1000 teens by the stationers, Bic found that one in 10 don't own a pen, a third have never written a letter, and half of 13 to 19 years-old have never been forced to sit down and write a thank you letter. More than 80% have never written a love letter, 56% don't have letter paper at home and a quarter has never known the unique torture of writing a birthday card. The most a teen ever has to use a pen is on an exam paper. Bic, have you heard of mobile phones? Have you heard of E-mail, Facebook and Snap- chatting? This is the future. Pens are dead. Paper is dead. Handwriting is a relic. "Handwriting is one of the most creative outlets we have and should be given the same importance as other art forms such as sketching, painting or photography". (5x 1 = 5) 1. According to the author, which one is not the more creative outlet of the pursuit? 2. When confronted with signing a big card, the author felt like "a rabbit in the headlights". What does this phrase mean? I. A state of pain II. A state of confusion III. A state of pleasure IV. A state of happiness

What happend early in scene? who was Jessica? what she talking about?

Answer»

Answer:

Jessica is the daughter of Shylock, a Jewish moneylender, in William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice (C. 1598). In the PLAY, she elopes with Lorenzo, a penniless Christian, and a chest of her father's money, eventually ending up in Portia and Bassanio's household. In the play's dramatic structure, Jessica is a minor but pivotal role. Her ACTIONS motivate Shylock's vengeful insistence on his "pound of flesh" from ANTONIO; her RELATIONSHIPS with Lorenzo and Shylock serves as a mirror and contrast to Portia's with Bassanio and with her father; her conversion to Christianity is the end of Shylock's line's adherence to the Jewish faith.

1) you recently visited the Children's Parle. a favourite place for all children in your city. Write a description of the parle in о 100 - 150 words.

Answer»

Answer:

I don’t really think I would have ever gone to a children’s park if it was not for ONE of my little cousins. Yes, my little cousin just loved going to a children park except, of course, his parents were too busy to take him there most of the time. So, when I visited him last year because I was on a vacation, he didn’t want to waste the opportunity to drag me to a children’s park.

As I have already mentioned, I never really visited a children’s park before so I just didn’t know what I was expecting in a children’s park except that there were some activities to entertain the children. Of course, I tried to tell that to my little cousin but he was too much optimistic of a character as he was certain that I would also enjoy the children’s park, I was visiting, just like him.

And, he was right to some extent because I was indeed happy to see him enjoying his time while he was riding the merry go round, roller coasters, Ferris wheels, SWING boats and other things. However, I noticed that out of all those rides, my little cousin enjoyed the ride on the land train the most. Anyway, seeing my cousin so delighted, it was worth capturing the rare moments of fun, so I took my smartphone out and took some of his pictures while in action.

Oh, by the WAY, I also had to buy my little, 8 years old cousin some snacks and ice creams to provide him with the much-needed energy to carry on with his fun activities.

Anyway, I went to visit the park, primarily because I didn’t want to see my little, innocent cousin sad. After all, he didn’t like anything else as much as visiting a children’s park, and I just didn’t want to be the one to spoil that fun. Besides, I also wanted to get some first-hand experience of visiting a children’s park myself since I had NOTHING BETTER to do at that time.
