What were the views of Rabindranath Tagore on education system in India

Answer»

Tagore did not believed in the conventional form of education that that is found every where on globe. As a child, when he went to school, he could barely concentrate in the class. He found him distracted by the tiniest of things, but these were all a part of nature!

He dropped out of school when he was quite Young, and was then home-schooled. His IDEAS about education revolved around the idea that children should learn and grow in their natural environment and not within the four walls alone.

As he grew older, and finished his education, he continued pursuing his PASSION for WRITING, of which nature, mysticism and exotixism is a major part. These ideas were developed in an EARLY age because of the fact that he was home-schooled and spent a lot of time exploring nature.

This also helps us to understand the idea BEHIND the founding of - "Shanti Niketan"-The abode of peace, where he wanted his students to learn and grow in the laps of nature.
