Explain the Umayyad caliphs' role in spreading Islam and safeguarding the Islamic state. |
|
Answer» Answer: Explanation: In the time PERIOD between 632CE and 660CE, after Prophet Muhammad DIED, 3 Caliphs arose-- Abu Bakar, Omar and Osman. All of them ruled from Medina as their throne of power. Later on, the Caliphate shifted it's seat of power to Kufah, near ancient Babylon. After the ASSASSINATION of Omar in 644CE, the Ummayyads succeeded to the Caliphate, and remained in power until 750CE. At that time, there also rose a dispute of succession between the Ummayyads and the Abbasids. The Ummayyads then again made Damascus their capital instead of Medina. At the time, the Arab EMPIRE extended from Afghanistan, Baluchistan and most of Central Asia in the east to Morocco in North Africa and a large part of Spain and France in the west. They also built many beautiful cities like Baghdad, Cairo and Damascus. There were also few other factors which led to the prosperity of the empire. During the reign of Abd al-Malik and his successors, both the Arab and Islam identities were strongly emphasized. Arabic was made the language of administration, and coins were struck with Arabic inscriptions. Because of the extent of the empire, the Islamic and Arabic cultures were spread to greater extents. |

Answer» Answer: The World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions (WGSRPD) is a biogeographical system developed by the international Biodiversity Information Standards (TDWG) organization, formerly the International Working GROUP on TAXONOMIC Databases. The system provides clear definitions and codes for recording plant distributions at four scales or levels, from "botanical continents" down to parts of large COUNTRIES. Current users of the system include the International Union for Conservation of NATURE (IUCN), the Germplasm Resources Information Network (GRIN), and the World Checklist of Selected Plant Families (WCSP).[1] Plants of the World Online uses Kew's data sources,[2] and hence also uses the WGSRPD for distributions. |

Nana Sahib (19 May 1824 – 1857) After leading a group of rebellions during the 1857 uprising, Nana Sahib defeated the British forces in Kanpur. He even killed the survivors, sending a hard-hitting message to the British camp. Nana Sahib was also KNOWN as an able ADMINISTRATOR and is SAID to have led around 15,000 Indian soldiers. KUNWAR Singh (November 1777 - 26 April 1858) At the age of 80, Kunwar Singh led a group of soldiers against the British in Bihar. As a form of protest against the British, Tilak established schools and published rebellious newspapers. He was famous as one of the trios – Bal, Pal and Lal. People loved him and accepted him as one of their leaders and so, he was called Lokmanya Tilak. Mangal Pandey (19 July 1827 – 8 April 1857) Mangal Pandey is said to have played a key role in inspiring Indian soldiers to start the great rebellion of 1857. What is human development index explain 4 indicators of human development index |
|
Answer» Answer: The Human Development Index (HDI) is a statistic composite index of life expectancy, education, and per capita income indicators, which are USED to rank countries into four tiers of human development. A country scores a higher HDI when the lifespan is higher, the education level is higher, and the gross national income GNI (PPP) per capita is higher. It was developed by Pakistani economist Mahbub ul Haq, with help from Gustav Ranis of Yale UNIVERSITY and Meghnad Desai of the London School of Economics, and was further used to measure a country's development by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP)'s Human Development Report Office.[1][2][3] The 2010 Human Development Report INTRODUCED an Inequality-adjusted Human Development Index (IHDI). While the simple HDI remains useful, it stated that "the IHDI is the actual level of human development (accounting for inequality)", and "the HDI can be viewed as an index of 'potential' human development (or the maximum IHDI that could be achieved if there were no inequality)". The index does not take into account several factors, such as the net WEALTH per capita or the relative quality of goods in a country. This situation tends to lower the ranking for some of the most advanced countries, such as the G7 members and others.[4] The index is based on the human development approach, developed by Amartya Sen, often framed in terms of whether people are able to "be" and "do" desirable things in life. Examples include—Being: well fed, sheltered, healthy; Doings: work, education, voting, participating in community life. The freedom of choice is central—someone choosing to be hungry (as during a religious fast) is quite different from someone who is hungry because they cannot afford to buy food, or because the country is in a famine.[5 Explanation: |

In a direct democracy, the citizens as a whole form a GOVERNING BODY and vote directly on each issue. In a representative democracy the citizens elect representatives from among themselves. These representatives meet to form a governing body, such as a legislature.
