Name the leader of the convention assembly |
Answer» Answer: The National Convention governed France from 20 September 1792 until 26 October 1795 during the most critical period of the French Revolution. The election of the National Convention took place in September 1792 after the election of the electoral colleges by primary regional assemblies on 26 August. Owing to the abstention of aristocrats and the anti-republicans, and the general fear of victimization, the voter turnout in the departments was low – as little as 7.5 PERCENT or as much as 11.9% of the electorate, compared to 10.2% in the 1791 ELECTIONS, despite the doubling of the number of eligible voters.[1] Initially ELECTED to provide a new constitution after the overthrow of the monarchy on 10 August 1792, the Convention included 749 deputies drawn from businesses and trades, and from such professions as law, journalism, medicine, and the clergy. Among its earliest acts was the formal abolition of the monarchy, through Proclamation, on 21 September, and the subsequent establishment of the Republic on 22 September. The French Republican Calendar discarded all Christian reference POINTS and calculated time from the Republic's first full day after the monarchy – 22 September 1792, the first day of Year One. Give main reason for the decline of chola dynasty ? |
Answer» Answer:First decline: After Sadayavarman, his brother Maravarman SUNDARA Pandyan I, came to power in 1216, and he is the one who laid the foundation for the revival of Pandyas monarch. He came to power when the Kulothunga Chola III was aging and almost ruled for continuous 40 years with many expeditions. He managed to march an army against the Mighty Cholas and defeated them at once he came to power. He performed a virabhisekham in the coronation hall of Cholas (mudikondasolapuram) at Ayirattali, Tanjore in the similar way Kulothunga Chola III did. Both Kulothunga Chola III and Rajaraja Chola III was sent to exile. Later Kulothunga Chola III got AID from his son-in-law Veera Ballala II, the greatest monarch of the Hoysala Empire. Ballala sent an army under his son, the crown prince Vira Narasimha II. Cholas accepted the defeat and suzerainty to Sundara Pandyan. Continuous decline: After Kulothunga Chola III, his son Rajaraja Chola III came to power in 1216, and he was one of the most incompetent King ever in the HISTORY of Cholas. He has even FLED his capital once, when Pandyas army approached over refusal to pay tribute. Actually, Cholas decline was just postponed every other time only by HOYSALAS intervention. Even one of his own chieftain Kopperunchinga I, captured Rajaraja Chola III, and was only released later after Hoysalas intervention mainly by Vira Narasimha II. Last Chola: Last Chola King to rule the shrunken Kingdom was Rajendra Chola III, who came to throne in 1246, and was considered to be an able ruler. Pandyas Empire under Sadayavarman Sundara Pandyan I, continuously expanded its territories. And, Maravarman Kulasekara Pandyan I, defeated Rajendra Chola IIIsomewhere between Trichy and Tanjore. Also he defeated the Pallavas, as Pallavas and Cholas were together fighting against Pandyas in 1279. And there is no evidence for the killing of Rajendra Chola III. But after this war, there is no mention of Pallavas or Cholas anywhere. Explanation: |

Give two ways in which early humans learn to use and change their environment |
Answer» Answer: Humans have been present on this Earth for nearly 3.5 MILLION years when “Homo erectus” first evolved with an upright posture enabling the use of hands (Ponting). “Homo erectus” evolved into “Homo sapiens” one hundred thousand years ago and both lineages lived in small, mobile groups. For nearly two million years, their way of life was based AROUND hunting and gathering food until ten to twelve thousand years ago when AGRICULTURE evolved. Early humans depended upon their knowledge of crops and seasons in order for survival. Eventually, as brain size increased and more humans adapted to DIFFERENT environments, advances were made in human technology. Humans began to work with and occasionally against their environment to CREATE a stable way to acquire food as well as a more stable lifestyle. On the other hand, the environment, the climate in particular, definitely dictated the movement and survival methods of early humans. |
