If a planet's atmosphere contains radiatively active gases they will radiate energy in all directions. Importance :- It is important for us for maintaining the earth's atmosphere. Without it earth cannot be warm enough to support human life. Of it increases too much means it increase the temperature on earth to much then it will disrupt sea level, weather etc.
