A steady state in thermodynamics is nothing but a state of system which does not changes with time.

Now state of a any system as stated by state postulate, is specified by two independent intesive properties. So we can say that if during any process the properties of any system does not change with time or are constant at any point in system during the whole process then the state of the system is said to be steady.
