V = \( \frac {[(5 \TIMES 50) + (7 \times 40)] \times 10^{-6}}{(5 + 7) \times 10^{-6}}\)

ENERGY lost by 5 μF capacitor = \(\frac {1}{2}\)C1V1^2 – \(\frac {1}{2}\)C1V^2 = \(\frac {1}{2}\)C (V1^2 – V^2)

\(\frac {1}{2}\) × (5 × 10^-6) × (50^2 – 40^2) = 0.00225
