1.

A father is twice as old as his son. 20 years back, he was 12 times as old as the son. What are their present ages ?1. 24, 122. 44, 223. 48, 244. None of these

Answer» Correct Answer - Option 2 : 44, 22

Calculation:

Let the present age of the son be x years then the present age of the father be 2x

20 years back,

The age of the father = 2x –20 years

The age of the son = x –20 years

Now, A/Q

2x –20 = 12(x –20)

⇒ 2x –20 = 12x –240

⇒ 12x –2x = 240 –20

⇒ 10x = 220

⇒ x = 22

∴ The age of the son and the father are 22 years and 44 years respectively
