Answer» Shodan (Sentient Hyper-Optimized Data ACCESS Network) is a SEARCH engine similar to Google, but it does not search for websites, but rather maps and information about internet-connected devices/systems. Shodan is sometimes referred to as an IOT search engine. To put it simply, Shodan is an IoT TOOL used to identify Internet-connected devices. It keeps track of all the machines with direct Internet access. Cybersecurity experts use Shodan as a tool to protect individuals, companies, and even public utilities against cyber-attacks. Shodan lets you search for any internet-connected device, and it will tell you if it is PUBLICLY available or not. |
