Answer» Answer: A coordinate bond is a CHEMICAL bond between two ATOMS when one of the atoms shares a PAIR of electrons. An example of a coordinate bond is the relationship between hydrogen chloride and ammonia when the ammonium ions are formed by the transfer of a hydrogen ION to the pair of electrons in the ammonia molecule.
