It can be defined as: Scalar product or dot product is an algebraic operation that takes two equal-length sequences of numbers and returns a single number.

Properties:-

  • The scalar product of two vectors A and B is a scalar quantity equal to the product of the two vectors and the COSINE of the smallest ANGLE between them.
  • The scalar product is commutative ,A×B⇒B×A.
  • When we form the scalar product of two vectors,we MULTIPLY the parallel component of the two vectors.
