You follow below steps to lock icons in PLACE on the desktop in Windows XP.
Steps:
1.Right click on Desktop.
2.Then Click on Properties.
3.After that click on Desktop tab.
4.Then click on Customize Desktop Button.
5.Then click on Web tab.
6.After that click on Lock desktop ITEMS CHECK box.
7.Then click on OK button, and then click on Apply or OK button.
