If 0.2ohm, 0.3ohm, 0.4ohm, 0.5ohm and 12ohm resistors are connected to a 9v battery in parallel, what will be the current through the 12ohm resistor?

Answer»

GIVEN ,

  • The 0.2 ohm , 0.3 ohm , 0.4 ohm , 0.5 ohm and 12 ohm resistors are CONNECTED to a 9 v battery in parallel

We know that ,

The current flowing through the conductor is directly proportional to the potential difference of the battery

\sf \mapsto V  \propto I \\  \\\sf \mapsto V = IR

The constant of PROPORTIONALITY R is called resistance of the conductor

Thus , the current flowing through the 12 ohm resistor will be

9 = I × 12

I = 9/12

I = 0.75 amp
