If canal ray experiments are conducted with different isotopes of hydrogen gas, do the canal rays produced show that same deflection under the external eletric field? Give reasons to support your answer. |

Answer» Solution :Portium `(._1H^1)` deuterium `(._1H^2)` and tritium `(._1H^3)` are NATURALLY occuring isotopes of hydrogen. UNIPOSITIVE ions of protium, deuterium and tritium differ in their mass. Thus their e/mratio is DIFFERENT. Therefore, they defelct at different angles in an EXTERNAL electric FIELD. |
