In an alternating current circuit, the phase difference between current I and voltage is Ď, then theWattless component of current will be |
|
Answer» The current in an A.C circuit is called wattless current, if the average power consumed in the circuit is 0. The average power will be 0 in two cases: Purely Inductive Circuit ( Because in Inductive circuit, voltage leads the current by π/2, thus Cos θ=0) Purely Capacitive Circuit(Because in Capacitive circuit, current leads the voltage by π/2, this Cos θ=0) No power is dissipated even though a current in flowing in the circuit. This current is called Wattless current/Idle Current. |
