1.

need of modulation or modulating factor

Answer»

Modulation is the process of modifying one or more characteristics of a periodic waveform(carrier wave) with a modulating signal.

In the modulation process, the characteristics of the carrier signal is changed but the message signal characteristics will not be changed.

Need for modulation : –

i) To separate signal from different transmitters :-

Each radio station must be given its own frequency band. This is achieved by frequency translation as a result of the modulation process.

ii)To Reduce Antenna Height. (practicability of antennas height).

iii)Transmit The Information To long Distance Without interference.

iv) Reduce bandwidth

Modulation factor: The ratio of change of amplitude of carrier wave to the amplitude of basic carrier wave.
