On what basis would you classify energy sources as(a) renewable and non-renewable?(b) exhaustible and inexhaustible?

Answer»

(a) The source of energy that is regenerated in nature is known as renewable source of energy.

-Bio-mass, sun, wind etc. are some of the examples of renewable sources of energy.

The source of energy that does not get regenerated in nature is known as non-renewable source of energy.

-Coal, petroleum etc. are some of the examples of non-renewable sources of energy.

(b) Exhaustible sources are those sources of energy, which will get exhausted or disappear after some time years.

-Coal, petroleum, etc. are the exhaustible sources of energy.

Inexhaustible resources of energy are those sources, which will not get exhausted from nature.

-These are unlimited ,for example ,solar energy from sun. Sun is one of the inexhaustible sources of energy.

a) Renewable : The resources which can be renewed or regenerated in nature is known as renewable resources. (e.g. Solar and wind energy, sun, etc.)

Non-renewable : The resources which cannot be renewed and occur over a very long ecological time. (e.g. Minerals and fossil fuels).

b) Exhaustible : The source of energy which will exhaust or dissappear after sometime. (e.g. Coal, petroleum, etc.).

Inexhaustible : The source of energy which will not exhaust from nature and are unlimited source of energy. (e.g. Sun).
