Answer» Solution :Dc-shelled egy KEPT in pure water swells. This happens due to entry of water inside the egg cytoplasm through the egg membrane. The concentration of water is higher on the outer SIDE than on the inner side. Thus, water ENTERS inside the egg causing it to swell. Here endosmosis TAKES place.
