Answer» Solution :1. Genetic manipulation is the technique USED to produce GM crops. In this practice, the desirable gene is introduced into the crop varieties by hybridisation or by DNA recombinant technology. 2. The original GENES of a particular variety are thus manipulted and a new recombination is PRODUCED. 3. In agricultural practices, such GM varieties are said to have better yield, better resistance from pathoges lesser pest attacks on them (as in case of BT cotton), SHORT and early maturation period seedless varieties of grapes and PAPAYA). |
