The following is a collection of verses by the saint Raidas.
in the first verse, the poet says that he has been uttering the Lord’s name and now it is becoming impossible for him to stop. The poet compares himself, a devotee, to the Lord. . He says that if the Lord is sandalwood, then I (the poet) am water. If the Lord is a flame, then the poet is a wick. If the Lord is a pearl, then the poet says that he is a thread. Finally, he says that the Lord is the almighty and he is a servant of the Lord.

In the second verse, Raidas explains the importance of hard work. He says that one must always work hard and feed oneself by one’s efforts. Raidas tells the reader that we must become a Karmayogi – One who believes it is one’s duty to put in efforts. When one works hard and earns his livelihood through moral means, his efforts never go unrewarded.

In the third verse, Raidas imagines a kingdom where everyone is happy, and where everyone has enough food to eat. He imagines such a kingdom where no one is left wanting for food or water, and where without discrimination, everyone is equal and lives happily. Imagining such a kingdom makes Raidas happy.
