Solve : admin password question? |
|
Answer» I have a Dell D610 laptop from a previous JOB. It still is configured with some software applications that I do not want. It also has an admin password protection - and I do not know the password. I would like to RESTORE the laptop to it's original factory settings - can this be done by using a windows xp operating system disk and do I need to know the password? The FOURM rules prevent answering to bypassing password or hacking or any realted to the two.As long as it is not a BIOS password if you re-install Windows you should be fine. Before you blitz it, check the hardware and GRAB all the drivers you can get. A bog standard XP disk will probably lack some of the necessary drivers. A bog standard XP disk will probably lack some of the necessary drivers. It's a Dell. Dell has great driver support on their site. You just have to enter your service tag and all of the drivers for your computer are there to download. Just go here http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&~ck=mn Gando, make sure that the the XP disk that you use to wipe the computer is the same version as the one that is listed on the product key sticker. There will be a sticker on the computer with your version and product key. It will look something like this You need the same version EG.. Home, professional, media center, etc. |
