Answer» when ever i get a message saying someone is trying to im me i get a window saying:
You are downloading the FILE:
AIM_text.adp from cdn.aim.com
Would you like to open the file or SAVE it to your computer?
then i can choose open, save, cancel, or close.
then before i can read that i get a message titled
rundll32
the file 'c:\WINDOWS\RUNDLL32.EXE' is not a valid MS-DOS program file. it may be damaged.
if there is any way u can help me i would be very greatfullI'm not 100% sure, but I'll take a wild guess it's a virus you have. (I'm 60% sure, and that's more sure than I usually get working with computers.) Anyways, what does your virus scanner show? What about an adware detection system? Here's a breakdown of my thoughts:
60% sure it's a virus. 20% sure it's been way too long since your LAST defrag. 15% sure that AIM is trying to fix a problem on your computer. 5% sure either you or someone else messed around in the Windows folder. (Probably not)well you may be right with someone messing around with a folder, CAUSE i came down to my computer last week and the win 98 folder was open.Really? Then lemme change my suspicions a little:
50% virus 20% sabatoge attempt 15% too long since defrag 15% AIM is trying to fix it.
I do hope it's a virus. It's harder to fix a sabatoge attempt. :-/Well i would do some system checkup by using different scanning software
