Solve : Android SD micro supports up to 32gb only??

Answer»

Hello I have a zte grand phone Android and I currently have a 16 gb SD MICRO card INSTALLED and its says in my user manual it SUPPORTS up to 32 gb what HAPPENS if I buy a larger storage card say 64 gb will it still work? Or will it be complety useless! Thanks and advice would help because I'm unable to find any info on this.My thoughts on this subject is that the 64GB would only work with a format to 32GB. I ran into a similar problem with my blu-ray player that has a USB port for watching videos off of an external drive. It only supports drives up to 32GB due to FAT32 partitioning with no other file system support. While its not an android device, I am assuming that it may be a FAT32 situation if they claim it supports only up to the magic number of 32GBIt is an issue of the SD design.

SDHC
The Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) format, announced in January 2006 and defined in version 2.0 of the SD specification, supports cards with capacities up to 32 GB.[2] The SDHC trademark is licensed to ensure compatibility.[6

New versions of the design now go up to 2 tetra bytes. But it is not yet widely used. One issue is the much greater battery DRAIN a large card will put on any portable device.
