Solve : Ati Radeon 7000 with Dell E551c monitor, limited resolution options.? |
|
Answer» I have a Radeon 7000 graphics card and a Dell E551c monitor with WINDOWS XP Pro. I've installed the latest graphics driver an ATI catalyst available for my card. Here are the specs for my monitor: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/monitors/56ttk/En/SPECS/specs.htm. Why can't a get a resolution between the two? Because there isn't one. Quote from: shopping.com The awesome Dell E551c 15-inch color monitor displays sharp and brilliant images at an optimal resolution of 800x600 pixels (and a maximum resolution of 1024x768 pixels). The limitation is the monitor. This type can only work at fixed resolutions. The "awesome" Dell E551c has two resolutions. That sucks. I'll try to dig up an old monitor with more resolution options, THANKS. Quote from: Cityscape on June 19, 2010, 05:34:17 PM That sucks. See chart halfway down: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Display_resolutionBut then how come neither look well? 800x600 is too large and 1024x768 is too small. EDIT: this a CRT monitor, right? Quote from: BC_Programmer on June 19, 2010, 07:49:01 PM evidently the monitor is awful.Yes it is, so another monitor would be the solution to my problem then, right?A bigger monitor would make the higher resolution easier to read. By today's standards, you have got a fairly small monitor. |
