Solve : Burning/copying DVD's $ CD's?

I have a new COMPUTER with a Dual DRIVE
(16x DVD-ROM and 16x DVD+RW)
Sonic calls it
D: Drive DVD Drive
E: Drive DVD/CD-RW Drive
    I bought a CD-RW SET of discs and find they don't work. Are they worthless on my machine and what kind of disks should I buy to burn music and copy data. Thank you. Chaspark Quote

What operating system (VERSION of Windows)?
What "burning" software?

RW's are "rewritable" (eraseable) and will work in any drive marked CD-R/RW
