Recently, I have been unable to close a website while I am on line.  I can get to various websites, but when I press the "X" icon the site fails to disconnect.  I have scanned for viruses and the program says I have none.  Has anyone run into this problem?  Any suggestions on how I might fix this or do I need a professional?  Please keep it simple.c j spittler.......What HAPPENS if you LOOK down on the bottom of your monitor and there should be whatever app thats open down there ....if you right click and that app and select close ...will it close ?

dl65  Scan for spyware as well.I just had this problem not too long ago. Mine did the same  thing,I would try to close the window and it wouldn't do anything. My problem was with my internet explorer. I thought I had it fixed but I ended up having to install a different browser. I started USING Mozilla Firefox and  then uninstalled explorer. I haven't had any trouble since. ( I acually like it better). Merlin was who helped me with this. It COULD be your browser is corrupt. I REALLY hope this helps....I know it drove me nuts when mine was doing this.
