Solve : Change your Windows boot screen!?

Answer»

For Win2000 and WinXP users only, I'm afraid.

Note: NEVER install the Vista Transformation Pack. I've been fighting to GET it uninstalled for months now. Literally FIGHTING. I've got it 99% removed, but the boot screen still says "Windows Vista". Pain in the *censored*. Rather than reinstall Windows XP, I decided to make the boot screen cooler, since this is getting old:

There's a program that lets you change that. Link below. I downloaded a few additional bootskins, because the default sucked too. I like these:

Run the uninstaller
There is a command you should run that finds missing windows files, if someone knows the command, please post it. I did. I told it to remove everything. Sadly it didn't, and SFC /scannow wrecked Windows (had to use Last Good Config).

So, I am, in classic fashion, ignoring the final problem and making it look cooler. Been using this for a while now.
It is a free trial though, not entirely freeware.According to Download.com, BootSkin has "No limitations".that "middle" blue one is freakin  AWESOME!!!

it's blue right? I'm kinda color blind  ;-0I tried WindowBlinds at one TIME...the trial, though.

When I went to UNINSTALL it, the taskbar was never the same...no color...

Tried to restore, but that didn't work...forget what else I reied to remedy it...to no avail.

Ended up having to do a new install to fix the problem WB created...maybe it was just me...nobody's perfect...except for Rob... Window Blinds will create havoc on an XP machine...not that i'm aggravated or upset or thouroughly teed off about it or anything....Face it, any software that modifies these certain files that have to do with the GUI will have a chance of messing something up. Its changing files that Windows automatically knows to protect. (Does that tell you something? )Hey,Dilbert....that last known good configuration
works just fine....just used it ..LOL
