Answer» Quote from: harry 48 on April 10, 2009, 12:16:59 PM hi da8686 , you willl see quote below Hey, You can download software to do this. I have used CoreTemp (http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/) and it seems to work well.I just tried CoreTemp, and I hate to say, the readings were totally off mark by a whole TWENTY degrees. While Everest, SpeedFan, and CPU RightMark read 22-23C, CoreTemp reads 43-44C! Quote from: Broni on April 10, 2009, 02:07:51 PM I just tried CoreTemp, and I hate to say, the readings were totally off mark by a whole TWENTY degrees. Thanks Broni. I have used SpeedFan as well. I have not had problems with coretemp, but if you have, he should probably use speedfan since that is a good program too. It's interesting. I'll try it on my laptop, and see what happens.I am interested to see the results.Same thing on my laptop. Everest, SpeedFan - 43C, CoreTemp - 63C.......20 degrees difference.Interesting. I will have to try it again. I am pretty sure I wasn't checking them both at the same time and comparing.I'll be CURIOUS to see, too.My fan is running at 100% and it's SOOO loud, and my stats are: GPU: 51c Temp1: 41c Temp2: 52c HD0: 34c Temp1: 44c Core: 52c Ambient: 0c Fan1: 0rmp Fan2: 4116rpm VCORE: 1.34V +3.3v: 3.01v +5v: 5.05v +12v: 11.61v -12v: -12.28v -5v:4.55v +5VSB: 5.54 v VBAT: 3.09 HDO: 97% CPU0: 3.0% CPU1: 1.6% Freq.: 2803 MHz Is this bad??? My computer is pretty old...Is it desktop? What is the processor there (hold Windows logo key, hit Pause/Break key)? Quote from: Broni on April 10, 2009, 04:53:43 PM Is it desktop?Yes. Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4PU 2.8GHx 2.8GHz, 512 MB of RAM DDR (original type) also, NVidia GeForce 7300 GT 512MB DDR2 RAM.The MAX temp for this particular processor is listed at 75C. 52C for idle desktop is rather high. Did you clean inside, check on fans? Quote from: Broni on April 10, 2009, 05:31:07 PM The max temp for this particular processor is listed at 75C. It was cleaned...about 2 months ago...when I got my video card installed.Open the case, and point household fan toward the open case. See, if the temperatures will go down. |
