Solve : CompTIA online Training and Certification?

Answer»

Hello everyone,
I would like some help concerning the CmpTIA certification, i am currently interested in A+ CompTIA certification, can someone PLEASE direct me to a website where i can register, pay and study online. Or do i have to go to a CompTIA Training Center?
I would like to study at my own pace via online and then write the CompTIA Exams and receive the certificate up on completion.

Thanks TRY BrainBench///Thanks Patio,
I guess Brainbench is more of a Testing center instead of what i am really looking for, a website where training and testing is offered followed by a certification, up on completion.

More help is appreciatedLino124

Not sure if you have found your answer yet but there are a number of online courses out there. Just check with local colleges and learning centres, just be careful as some of them are just terrible. There are a few places that are even boot camp, these places are very pricy. go to www.comptia.org and register and you get more information. The site even has an area where you can do pratice exams. due a google search and see where if there a local learning centre near you, try to find some books. I myself did an online course and used a couple of books which helped get my A+ Cert.

Hope that helps.Just remember that completing a course does not mean you will be CERTIFIED. I know there are some places that offer the course (correspondance as well) and then say that you are qualified.
This is not the case, you must write the International Exam - at a recognised testing center.
The CompTIA site should give you all the relevant informationSorry to BUMP this but as a noob I didn't want to start a new thread

I have been volunteered by my manager to do a comp tia course for our department. The last person they trained left to have a baby and never came back, so as it currently stands nobody in my department is comp tia certified.

I don't want to let everyone down, is this a fairy easy course to pass?

Thanks

Is there a specific job requirement that you need the A+ for?

You'd do well to get a more specific cert; like watchguard or SONICWALL or cisco ceritifications. If you are a working IT Tech, then you will find the course easy, but if you have no IT experience it can be quite daunting.
I think that a cisco certification is a little more challenging than A+I had experience before I considered doing my CompTIA A+. To prepare, all I did was buy a book and read through it. CompTIA A+ Certification for Dummies actually. It was quite well written and explains all the stuff you need to know. There are other books out there like that, but make sure you get one that covers the new tests (they changed the test 3 or 4 years ago). I took mine while they were still on the older, easier test.
