Answer» HI, my girlfriends computer keeps freezing on start up and takes ages to get going. also when its starting up a load of error messages pop up saying that shes performing illegal operations. MS paint just opens automatically too. she has nothing valuable on her computer so i just suggested that i format the hard drive, replace her windows 95 with xp and install a virus scan and zone alarm because i persume shes got a virus from the net! anyways i could do with your help here PLEASE. what could the problem be and if i did what i suggested would it sort the problem! thanks!I would agree if she hasn't anything worth SAVING just reformat but make sure that she has the minimum hardware requirements for XP and chek out the harware compatibility list from Microsoft.yeah i will, i think it has the requirements, although it is PRETTY old.
