Answer»

Ok  , the computer was working fine yeasterday.. i woke up this morning and it WOULD not power on.. i held the power button and it would try to turn on power light come on while holding the button, fan ran slowly while holding.....

opened pc .. unplugged power supply, nothing diffrent....        took out the CMOS battery on the mother board .. put it back.. put in the power cord and and now all the fans are running .. power button light flashing...  didnt try to turn it on or off.. wont turn off..           Do you have a power board with surge protection?
Without it if you had a power surge, it may have burnt out your power supply and/or motherboard.

That normally what the flashing power light means - failure in power or motherboard.

If it's under warranty you might get it replaced or a new computer repaired for free if a manufacturing defect.

If you want to test to make sure it's not other things, remove the memory to just one stick, remove all devices attached INCLUDING the keyboard and mouse. It will beep at you since no keyboard, but if you get your screen back and it's up and running you know it's from another device or not getting enough power for all devices. Power hungry new graphic cards can drain all the power from the other devices, etc, and you might need a better Watt supply.ok so i got it running...      i took out three memory sticks and then replaced...  after i took out the third one and tried to power up it booted...  i turned it off and then powered back up and it came back on so... thank god...        if i have anymore PROBLEMS then ill be back..      Faulty/Fried Memory, lucky, easiler to replace and rather cheap to get these days. Glad you got it working.well i woke up this morning and it was doing the same thing...  i tried to take out more memory nothing so i put them back...        then i unhooked the yellow and black wire that connects the power supply to the motherboard and it powered up (also did that yeasterday)..  didnt boot to the monitor but powered up all the way.  then when i reconnected the wire its all sluggish and wont power up completely..   there is beeping like it should ..       Count the beeps and their LENGTHS (short or long) and check your motherboard manual for the beep code. This will locate the problem area for you.

So maybe it wasn't the memory but a faulty cable or something you moved around while checking. Make sure no cables are sitting on the fans, etc. They might be nicked or twisted causing a short.

Either that or the power supply is damaged like one of the rails and needs to be replaced. Unplug the computer and drain the power supply by holding the power on button then leave it for a while. Re-connect, turn on and check, if it works it might be the power supply rail.

Good luck again.
Just don't keep turning on and off over and over, you might do more damage to the components. LET it rest sometimes.
