Answer» Hi, this has started happening over the past couple of months, at first it TOOK around 2-3 days to become unbearable without restarting now it takes about a day. just like the title says, computer starts slowing down (cursor gets STUCK here and there while moving it), while listening to any audio/video files the sounds jams (not sure how to explain it, every second or so it gets stuck on the same voice note) and i noticed that my ram usage (task manager->PHYSICAL memory) increases from give or take 20% to 50% i looked up ram usage increases in google and it mentioned a memory leak from an open process, tried LOOKING for one that is suspicious with no luck tried installing and running an ad-aware scan which did not help
here are my specs: os: windows 7 sp1 ram: 8GB DDR3 1333MHz cpu: i7 860 2.8ghz gpu: evga gtx 560 ti geforce hd: 2.5 TB of hard drive space, around 2 of it is free av: avg internet security business edition 2012
please let me know if you need anything elseSure sounds like some process is using an inordinate amount of computer resources. Have you tried disabling all but the most essential of your programs that are part of your start menu to see if that changes anything? Don't remove them just disable them as you will reintroduce them one at a time to try and identify which one(s) are causing the issue. The computer you describe has a lot of performance so hardware should not be an issue. How old is the computer? Can you think back to anything that was being done on the computer when this 1st started? Confirm that you have only ONE virus scan program running at a time. truenorthdisabling programs from start menu lowered the ram usage by around 5%, i am only using AVG here yesterday it had reached around 90% ram usage after about a week of beeing on continuosly before it crashed and needed restarting
