Solve : Computer won't start..?

Answer»

Hello everyone, a friend and I just FINISHED building his computer from scratch. Everything's PLACED together. Now everytime we try powering the system up, the whole computer just starts and runs for about a second and dies down immidiately. Meaning every fan spins and the lights light up for about a second and it stops. I was wondering what could be the problem. This is his first time building a computer and thinks it's probably the computer case(we're using an old case but everything else is new). you should post this thread in "computer hardware".

i can tell you right now its not going to be the case, unless its shorting out somewhere. the problem most likely is incorrect CONSTRUCTION. are you 100% sure that all the components are compatible with each other? did you thoughly read the motherboards instruction manual? did you TRIPLE check all of your connections, checking for loose connections and/or incorrect connections? It could be the incorrect construction. Someone's coming now to check on it. Thank you though.no problem .Could it be quickly overheating?
