Solve : Creating an XP install disk?

Answer»

Can anyone provide instructions (or a link to some) on how to create an XP install disk?
Medium-Long story:
When I bought my computer (many moons ago), it didn't come with a cd, and we were fine because we never needed a cd. Windows Authenication check (or whatever) cleared the computer after we put in the code on the sticker on the computer case (on the seal). About a year ago I got a new video card installed, but the guy took off my sticker. Once again, I didn't notice/care because I had no need for it at the time.

Now, I'm planning on flushing my computer, give it a fresh start. I used a program called Magic Bean code finder and it worked like a charm, too bad my neighbour's install cd is corrupt and won't accept any code (EVEN the one in UNATTEND.TXT) and I can't get my hands on another cd.

Long story short/TL;DR: Is there any way to burn the required files, etc. to a cd to reinstall the OS/flush the computer?

EDIT: Just tried google. All I got is how to slipstream my xp cd, which will be very useful once I make one lol. Is your hidden Recovery partition INTACT ? ?

Do you have access to another XP CD ? ?

If so PM me.Quote from: patio on January 15, 2010, 07:43:32 PM

Hidden recovery partion? It didn't come with a recovery cd, and no, I don't have access to another cd (KINDA why I said "I can't get my hands on another cd.")If your ASKING if the Windows installation as it is can somehow be assembled into an installable setup file the short answer is NO...You still didn't answer patio's question about recovery partition.
How many partitions do you have there (look in "Disk Management")?
What brand of computer is it?

1 partition. It doesn't say on it in big letters HP or DELL (as they usually do), because it was some carp no-name brand computer, bought from a store that has since gone bankrupt. Quote from: patio on January 15, 2010, 08:23:12 PM

No. I was asking if there was a way to create a disk. Like, if there is a way to find the install files and put them on a CD again?Quote from: Helpmeh on January 16, 2010, 08:38:05 AM

There isn't. The installation software -- on the CD -- uses the installation files -- on the CD -- to build an installation on the target computer. I think you may have toi pony up for a new Windows CD.
