Solve : Dell that won't boot! Please help!?

Answer»

Ok, so I have very bad luck with computers, and do to a laptop crashing I brought an old Dell Optiplex GX 260 desktop(used to be used in a highschool) back to school with me to use. It ran perfectly fine Tuesday night at home, but when I plugged it in and tried to boot up, it went through the basic loading screens it should, but then suddenly a BLUE screen appears saying "INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE" followed by a lot of other text about the hard drive.

I ran all of the tests I could access through hitting the F12 key when the option is available during the startup loading pages, and they all said they passed, however that blue screen pops up again and again.

I'm not GOOD with computers, let alone Dells, so I am at a total loss for what to do now. Since I really need my own computer as a college student and my roommate is getting SICK of me having to use hers daily, I was hoping someone WOULD know how I can personally repair this, or get it to go away by any means necessary!

Please and Thank You if someone has info for me!!!!Hi,
Could you try to eject all the CD, diskett and others external devices to see if this work?

if nothing external is in, maybe you can start with bootdisk/CD to see if really the HARDDISK have the problems

you may need to change the boot sequence from CMOS/BIOS in order to boot from CD/Diskett

Hope this help you
