Answer» A dodgy third-party CHARGER just crashed my iPhone, and I can't restore USING iTunes (I get an error). I'm hoping to erase EVERYTHING on the phone (from the phone), then use iTunes to reinstall 3.1.3 But will it force an upgrade to iOS4 like it did from 3.1.2 to 3.1.3? I SUPPOSE since my phone is near-unusable now I may not have MUCH choice but to upgrade :/ More than half my applications are in folders (Categories), but I can't "free" them because every time I try to use Categories it crashes lol. Hmmm....Not sure about this one... You can plug into iTunes, click Restore iPod, then Sync it. Your iPhone backup will be implemented onto your iPhone. Nothing will be lost.
