Answer» Does anyone have experience and/or opinions on doublemyspeed.com? I hear advertisements practically every day, and thought it would be worth a try for my old HP desktop computer which at times is PAINFULLY slow. Garbage... Thanks, any suggestions? If you think you PC is running poorly, post some more information. Why do you think it is slow? Did it used to be better? Do your neighbors have better Internet SPEED? Quote from: Geek-9pm on November 06, 2011, 07:20:27 PM If you think you PC is running poorly, post some more information. The pc is the problem, the internet connection is fine. Internet speeds over 20mbps. 1. Boot up; Starts by asking me to choose from 3 types, Vista, XP, or recovery option. Haven't been able to get rid of this. 2. Boot up; extremely slow, used to be fine. 3. Operation; Sometimes locks up for several minutes at a time, but then frees itself. 4. Live video feeds; such as espn3 or nbcsports are very blurry and low quality even though they play well on a laptop. 1. What is the make and model of your PC? Is it a laptop? 2. Was it faster at a earlier time? 3. Who set up the Vista and XP dual-boot? 4. Do you have two HARD drives in the system? Is the boot drive a SATA? Does it boot slow in XP but fast in Vista? How does it do in safe mode? Have you recently done a full virus scan? Have you run Chkdsk recently? Do you have another PC handy? Do you have your data on a portable or eternal backup media? |
