Solve : Downsizing video clips from digital camera in Qucktime format?

Answer»

Hey everyone!!!!

I have a Kodak easy share C813 digital camera, that records video clips in a quicktime movie format when they are downloaded to the computer, and they are about 10-13 MB in size, and they take forever to transfer over a NETWORK, such as sending them via IM or upoading to youtube, etc. I do have dial up which is one of the reasons i am sure but is there a way to compress these clips to a smaller format without losing too much audio and video QUALITY, so they transfer faster and take up less space? like using a different Codec? i am new to working with audio/video and WOULD appreciate any HELP y'all could offer thanks in advance

ccWhat I do to reduce filesize of videos is put them into Windows Movie Maker and, without doing anything to the original video, go to File --> Save Movie --> Next --> More Options and Best to Fit Size.
Keep bringing the file size down step by step until you see the framerate or Display Size at the bottom of the window CHANGE. You want to keep them the same and let only the Bitrate decrease.
Then save the movie.

Other than that, I don't think there is much you can do to compress videos.
