Solve : DVD+RW or CD-R? |
|
Answer» I'm not sure where to post this question,so I came here.I have googled and read so many things, but STILL can't figure out what is what. I tried doing a system backup on a CD-R and found out that it wouldn't work.So I bought the one it recommended, which is DVD+RW and if I done it right,it took 2 of those to do a backup. But can you play music or download music on a DVD+RW and play them in a CD player? Or do the DVD+RW's strictly USED for backing up your computer stuff? I mean...for music and documents I have been useing CD-R's and haven't had a problem at all....but what else can these DVD+RW's be used for?It says you can rewrite over them....so I get that. But are they only for backing up or movie recording or....?? Just basically wondering what is the difference? Thanks ahead of time. ps--please move this post if I am in the wrong place.Thanx.Aside from the obvious fact that one is a CD and the other a DVD, many CD & DVD players will not play R/W discs. DVD-R or DVD+R is very low COST when bought in packs of 25 or more. They can hold enough data to backup most of the essential things on your computer. Use of RW CD or DVD is not a good idea. Except when you have a compelling reason for it. Such as a project where you only want to keep date for a short time and then destroy it.
