Solve : First 2tb hard drive!?

Answer»

Western Digital has made the first 2tb hard drive!!!!!!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136344Good for them, but why bother? Nobody uses 2tb in their home/office computer.... EVEN 500gb is too much in my eyes! I mean, I have a 500, but I have ever only used 60gb max. I have 160 but I could use a lot more than that. Wanna trade uhh.....no It has been touched by an intel............................... and vista!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-pukes-Heck...i only use half of my 20GB HD

But this would come in handy for say web servers/database servers.or video editingI have over 100 gigs of software alone.......I have tons of software too!! Probably something arounf 100gb I only have 10gb free space.Quote from: computeruler on March 28, 2009, 01:26:45 PM

That is amazing. I can't imagine ever using that much space. My 80GB drive still has plenty of space for me. I could create new MS Office files and accumulate more email EVERY day for the rest of my life and not run out of space. My benchtest machine has 2 500G Seagates and a WD 250G....
Of course it also runs 7 OS's and all different types of Apps...Quote from: patio on March 29, 2009, 11:21:19 AM

That's me with my laptop.

Don't really boot into XP on it though.

regarding the hard drive- data storage and other industries often get larger hard drives before they reach the consumer market- for example the IBM 3380. This was the first 1GB drive ever created and it was not that long ago, it was created in 1980. The beast weighed 250 kg and cost US$142,000. Most consumers would require a layaway arrangement for that- or a second mortgage.
