Solve : floppy A disks?

Answer»

I SPILLED warm cocoa on a BOX of FLOPPY A disks on which was recorded several years of my writings and records.
Only a few of them are now accepted by the Floppy A drive of my computer.  For the majority I receive messages that the disk is not formatted or that it was formatted for an apple computer.  Is there a way of salvaging, restoring the disk and the info which was recorded onto them?
I did wipe them off and set them out to dry on a clean cloth. The goop is on the inside, not the outside.  If you keep inserting them in your drive, you will ruin the drive.

Try putting disks into warm distilled water, overnight.  Then remove and dry outside of disk.  Then let sit 3-4 days to dry.  They're probably unrecoverable and permanently unusuable.

Floppy disks are very poor permanent storage.  Read this:  http://www.pcguide.com/care/care/mediaFloppies-c.html
