1.

Solve:\(\frac{x-5}{2}-\frac{x-3}{5}=\frac{1}{2}\)(x - 5)/2 - (x - 3)/5 = 1/2

Answer»

\(\frac{x-5}{2}-\frac{x-3}{5}=\frac{1}{2}\)

Taking LCM of 2 and 5 = 10 on LHS

\(\Rightarrow \frac{5(x-5)-2(x-3)}{10}=\frac{1}{2}\)

By cross multiplication

⇒ 5x - 25 - 2x + 6 = 10/2

⇒ 3x = 5 + 19

\(\Rightarrow \text{x}=\frac{24}{3}=8\)
