Solve : FreeWebs HTML adding .mp3 for background?

Answer»

Hi, I am new to html and I am making a website on freewebs. I chose beginner mode and tried to add background sound to it. It says that I can only use MIDI files UNLESS I sign up for its premium services. I am not allowed to pay for my site so I SWITCHED to html(advanced) mode and tried to create the background sound. I UPLOADED my mp3 files and tried to use Microsoft FrontPage and use the html coding from there and copy onto the site. I changed the link to my FILE on the site, but when I open the site, no music plays. Please help.  First, there are reasons they do not want you uploading mp3's. For a start, mp3's are generally pretty large files, which means a high bandwith which Freewebs have to pay for. Also, the term mp3 generally conjures up memories of Napster, Kazaa, Morpheus and other P2P apps. Seeing as there is no easy way to see if you own the rights to the mp3 (and therefore can do what you like with it), I'm not surprised there is a blanket ban on the files.

Secondly, what you want to do is break the terms and conditions to which you signed up to the Freeweb's service. Even if you did manage it (unlikely), they'll find out sooner or later and simply remove the site, no questions asked and no warning given.

And thirdly, background music is generally an incredibly tacky effect on a webpage and more-often-than-not a complete and utter waste of bandwith. I applaud Freewebs for TRYING to stamp out the practice. God Bless Freewebs!

What I'm saying is simple: upgrade.
