Solve : freezing and auto rebooting problems? |
|
Answer» I have an HP mini 311-1037nr. I have a problem with the netbook freezing up and rebooting on it's own. I had a friend look at it and he said that the ram was defective. He removed the ram and it runs fine. I purchased a new ram and installed it and now it has the same problem. The netbook came with windows 7 and after replacing the hard drive I downloaded windows release preview 8 and then ubuntu. I do not KNOW what to do. I had a friend look at it and he said that the ram was defective. He removed the ram and it runs fine. I purchased a new ram and installed it and now it has the same problem. The netbook came with windows 7 and after replacing the hard drive I downloaded windows release preview 8 and then ubuntu. I do not know what to do.You need to ask your friend how he got it to work with no RAM. There is no one in this forum that uses a OS that runs without RAM. We want to know.He said that it was operating on the 1gig internal memory. All I know is that without the memory card (I guess) it works like a charm. I want to know why it freezes and auto reboots (randomly) with the memory card () installed so that I can put it back. Can someone please help me???Does the hp mini 311-1037nr have a slot for an extra ram stick? Maybe that is what I replaced and what he is talking about.Use the old RAM modules and the new ones. Swap alternately on AVAILABLE slots as there might be a broken slot, just in case. Make sure you have the correct RAM modules.Sorry, I misunderstood. The laptop has built-in memory. Somewhere I saw it is 1 GB. Maybe something is wrong with the slot. Is it still under WARRANTY? |
