I hope I make sence here. Although correct spelling is out of the question .
I have been trying for most of the morning to get to the c-prompt without being in Windows. My fingure is tri-colored from tapping the F8 key. All I can come up with is softmode. " Bring DOS back please.

 I'm running WinXP Pro. I865 PE with a Intel 3.0 processor. G-force 2 vid card and 512 mem. 160 HDD. Split C / E. 65% free.

 In a tip from one of the sites I belong to there was an artical conserning stored history in DOS/ what ever this is they use now. c-prompt. It does not recognize the deltree command. You have to use " DELETE*.* ", without the quotations. But ??
 Is there a way to get to the c-prompt without going through Windows.

DaveWhiteRiver...I don't know what it is your trying to do.....but if you want a C: prompt......why not .....CLICK "start" , then "Run" type cmd and press enter and you have a C: prompt.......or if you don't like that .....click start , All programs , Accessories , then select  command prompt .
