Answer» Not been on the forum too much recently, and probably won't be for a while. I've just installed Linux (Fedora Core 2, if you must know) and I must say it's rather lovely. Two RAM upgrades later, but that's another story...
Anyhow, my modem isn't compatible and I don't get paid for a while, so it may be a while before I can be bothered to STUMP up the cash, let alone fit the *censored* thing.
Bar that, it's flippin' good. Need a lot of HDD SPACE (most users would be looking at about 2GB - a full install is a fat 10GB) but for that you get loads of software (that doesn't cost you anything) and an operating system which will survive a nuke attack. And doesn't have any problems with SPYWARE, or viruses, or anything else for that matter.
So, basically if you know what's good for you, you'll rush out and get a BIG chunky book on a Linux distro, which will no doubt have CD's with the actual distro on it too. I did. ('Red Hat Fedora Linux 2 Bible' by Christopher Regus - ISBN:0-7645-5745-9 - £33.99 or $US49.99 is *censored* good)
Anyhow, see you in WebDev, Programming, Linux and possibly Others. Any problems in the other areas and it's your own *censored* fault for running Windows...
EDIT: Hmm, I've said '*censored*' a bit much...
